جرائم بيع واستغلال الأطفال جنسياً

هناك العديد من الجرائم التي ترتكب ويكون ضحيتها الأطفال وخاصة جريمة بيع الأطفال وجرائم الاستغلال الجنسي للأطفال- في البغاء وفي المواد الإباحية. وظاهرة استغلال الأطفال ظاهرة عالمية تضرب كافة أرجاء المعمورة، وتعد تحديًا جديدا للإنسانية يتمثل في تنامي أنماط من العبودية الحديثة للأطفال، سواء تلك التي تقع بطريق الإكراه أو الحيلة، أو تلك التي سقط فيها البعض طوعاً وبمحض إرادته، تحت وطأة الظروف المعيشية؛ لذا فقد تضافرت الجهود الدولية للإعلان عن الرغبة في مكافحة تلك الظاهرة من خلال اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة (اتفاقية باليرمو) لمكافحة الجريمة المنظمة عبر الوطنية، والبروتوكول المكمل لها والمتعلق بمنع وقمع ومعاقبة الاتجار بالأشخاص، وبخاصة النساء والأطفال بالإضافة إلى عدد من الجهود الأخرى وتعتبر سياحة الجنس مع الأطفال ظاهرة عالمية متنامية تلحق أضرارًا جسمية بأعداد لا حصر لها من الأطفال في جميع أنحاء العالم، وتسبب في أحيان كثيرة عواقب لا يمكن جبرها، رغم طبيعتها غير القانونية نظرًا إلى اعتبارها من الأمور المحرمة والى عدم فهم الجهات المعنية الرئيسية أبعاد هذه الظاهرة مما يجعل من الصعب الحصول على أرقام دقيقة بشأنها.
