أسباب كسب الجنسية في القانون المصري

تعبر الجنسية عن فكرة السيادة للدولة، وتخول المواطن التمتع بالحقوق السياسية، كحق الانتخاب والترشيح، وحق تولي الوظائف العامة، وتفرض عليه بعض الواجبات، كواجب الخدمة العسكرية والدفاع عن دولته والولاء لها، وتعتبر الجنسية أيضا عنصرا من عناصر هوية الفرد، بموجبها يقع التمييز بين المواطن والأجنبي. وللجنسية تأثير أيضا في تحديد القانون الواجب التطبيق حينما تعتمد كمعيار للارتباط عند الخوض في مسألة تنازع القوانين في القانون الدولي الخاص، رغم ماتشهده من منافسة عناصر إسناد أخرى.
